Indian women’s hockey team qualifies for 2024 World Cup
Skipper Navjot Kaur scored a hat-trick as the Indian women’s hockey team continued its impressive run in the Women’s Asian Hockey 5 World Cup Qualifier, thrashing Malaysia 9-5 to book a place in the final of the tournament and qualify for next year’s World Cup. Also managed to qualify for Navjot (7th, 10th and 17th minutes) scored a hat-trick, while Mariana Kujur (9th, 12th minutes) and Jyoti (21st and 26th minutes) scored two goals each. On the other hand, Monika Deepi Toppo (22nd minute) and Mahima Chaudhary (14th minute) scored one goal each. The goals for Malaysia were scored by Jaiti Mohammed (4th and 5th minutes), Dian Najeri (10th and 20th minutes) and Aziz Zafirah (16th minute). The opening leg of the Hockey Fives World Cup will be played in Muscat from January 24 to 27 next year. Now India will face the winner of the second semi-final between Thailand and Indonesia in the final.
