Sri Lanka now leaves Pakistan behind in WTC rankings

Chittagong. After a 192-run win over Bangladesh in the second Test, Sri Lanka has overtaken Pakistan to reach fourth place in the World Test Championship (WTC) table. Sri Lanka won the two-match series against Bangladesh 2-0 on Wednesday.
This series win caused a major upset in the WTC rankings. Sri Lanka is now placed fourth in the standings, ahead of Pakistan. Before them, only the teams of India (first), Australia (second) and New Zealand (third) are ahead of them.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, slipped to joint seventh place with South Africa with their next series taking place in Pakistan later this year, when they will travel for two Test matches.
Sri Lanka still have two home series to play in this cycle, including a match against New Zealand later this year and then two more Test matches at home against Australia in early 2025.
Their next schedule is a three-match series in England starting in August. Bangladesh will also play two Test matches against Pakistan later this year.
