Talking about this, producer and film business analyst Girish Johar says that it is not entirely correct to say that the audience has come to see the film ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’ only because of one free ticket with one. If it was true, then earlier for many films, producers had made such offers, but those films did not get an audience. If the audience likes a film, they come to see it even without any offers.

‘Film should have guts’

On the other hand, if the film is good and there is an offer of one free along with its ticket, then it will definitely help in increasing it. However, I believe that instead of giving one ticket with one ticket, the filmmakers should directly reduce the price of cinema tickets by half. This benefits the audience more and more number of viewers reach the cinema. In the past too, we saw that due to such offers, housefull boards were put up in theatres. Cinema tickets were sold for Rs 75 on National Cinema Day, while people watched movies for Rs 99 on Cinema Lover’s Day. At the same time, Pathan’s tickets were also sold for Rs.100. But here it would not be correct to say that the audience came to see the film only because of this offer. If the audience doesn’t like a film, then no amount of offers or free ticket schemes can save it from sinking at the box office. If Buy One Get One offer can make a film a success at the box office, then Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon’s Shehzada should have made a huge opening day collection. The film did not do much at the box office, while its makers had offered one with one ticket free from day one. At the same time, the experts of the film world also say that if a film does not have guts, then the audience cannot be brought to the cinema hall by giving just one free ticket along with one. Of course, getting one free ticket with one increases the craze among the audience to come to the cinema hall, but theaters cannot be housefull on its own. It would be better if producers focus on making good films instead of giving away free tickets.
