Sumbul’s father brought him up
Sumbul told that since she was 6 years old, her father has been taking care of her. She says- I consider myself very lucky that my father is very understanding and he started taking care of us alone when I was 6 years old. He raised us alone. Be it staying up all night or getting us ready for school, making our breakfast, taking care of the house and running our dance school, he did it all alone. He would send us to school, do all the household chores and then go to his dance school. After that he would come back and have lunch with us, then we would go for tuitions and after that he would finish the rest of the work. In the evening we all used to meet at the dance school and after coming back he would cook dinner for us. This was his complete routine, which I still remember.
Sumbul learned from father
Sumbul said that he has learned a lot from his father. She says- If my father was not there, I would not be here and whatever I have learned, I have learned from his experiences and from his behavior. Earlier my father used to read a lot of books, especially Hindi books and now I read them. I have learned a lot about life from him and his books. I am lucky that I have my father with me.
Father was with Sumbul during her period
Sumbul told that when she got periods, it was her father who helped her in this regard. I think what I haven’t got since childhood, I don’t know what that thing is. Maybe my mother was not around. I have always been with my father. Never in my life have I felt so much guidance and support from anyone else. The first time I got my period, my father was there, no one else was around to guide me. I told my father and he helped me with this. He knows everything about me and my life.
Sumbul Taukeer said this about his mother
Reconnecting with her mother, Sumbul says she respects her parents if they decide to separate, ‘It doesn’t matter what I plan. It is a simple thing in my view. I feel that if my parents have decided amongst themselves that they want to go on different paths in life, then as their daughter I should respect their decision. I think I should respect both the relationships. That’s all there is to me.’
Sumbul is happy to buy a house
Sumbul said on buying the house- I am very happy and this is not only my achievement, but it is also the achievement of my sister and my father. This house where I am sitting now is the hard work done by my father, my sister and me in the last 9 years. This is the result of passion. This has been one of my dreams and I am glad we were able to make it happen.
