Sunil Shetty did not want to send his children to Indian school and he said the same thing in his recent interview. Sunil Shetty said that he knew very well that it would cost a lot to send children to school in America and his father used to say these things to him often. He also spoke about how daughter Athiya made up her mind to pursue films after her college admission in Atlanta. In an interview with Nikhil Kamat, Suniel Shetty spoke about the struggles he faced during his initial days in the industry. In the beginning, he also had to face a lot of criticism from the critics. He told that these things were affecting not only him but also his family. He said, ‘I had already decided that I would not send my children to Indian schools. I wanted to send my children to an American Board school. I wanted a faculty that was American. The reason behind this is that I did not want my children to be made to feel special that they are the children of celebrities or to be told whose children they are. I wanted to let them into a world where it doesn’t matter who they are. I think it worked. I remember my father used to tell me that a lot of money would have to be spent for this.

When Athiya got admission, she said this to her father
Talking about Athiya, he said, ‘We took Athiya to Atlanta for admission and saw the college there. Everything happened and they liked it too. He got admission and when we were coming back, he said to me at the airport – Papa, I am not happy doing this. Then I asked him what to do then. On this Athiya told me – I want to work in films. I said this is a good thing but will you be able to accept your failures? Because it is very stressful. He kills me every Friday, anxiety kills me and nothing else.
