Kangana Ranaut has been hoping for a hit for the last several years. Leaving aside his film Manikarnika, all the films from Dhaakad to Panga, Judgmental Hai Kya to Jayalleela have been flops. Now the name of ‘Tejas’ has also been included in this flop list. According to the report of Bollywood Hungama, ‘Tejas’ has done a business of only Rs 4.25 crore at the domestic box office and the film has suffered a loss of Rs 50.77 crore.
Makers suffered a loss of Rs 50 crore
According to the report, the makers had invested Rs 70 crore on ‘Tejas’. The film earned only Rs 70 lakh from the international market and its profit at the domestic box office was Rs 2.23 crore. Apart from this, OTT, satellite and music rights of ‘Tejas’ were sold for Rs 17 crore. In this way, out of Rs 70 crore, the film could recover only Rs 19.23 crore and the makers had to suffer a huge loss of Rs 50.77 lakh.
‘Emergency’ will be released next year
After ‘Tejas’, Kangana Ranaut has now started preparing for her next film ‘Emergency’. Kangana herself has directed the film. This film, which was earlier scheduled to be released in theaters in November, will now be released next year. Kangana will be seen in the role of former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi in ‘Emergency’.
