Ae Watan Mere Watan Review: For the last few years, stories of unsung heroes are becoming an important pivot of Hindi cinema stories. Amazon Prime’s film Ae Watan Mere Watan, released today, is the story of a heroine lost from the pages of history. This story is of freedom fighter Usha Mehta, who played an active role in the British Quit India Movement of 1942. This film brings forward his struggle during that time, but the film has not been able to do justice to the inspiring story of this great freedom fighter. Be it the screenplay of the film or Sara Ali Khan’s acting, it has not been able to add that impact on the screen, which was the biggest need of this film.

The story of Congress Radio
Talking about the story of the film, its period is the time of independence in 1942. When the whole country was echoing with slogans like Quit British India, Do or Die. Inspired by real events, this film is about 22-year-old young Usha Mehta (Sara Ali Khan). Whose father worked for the British government, but Usha was struggling to free the country from slavery. Meanwhile, Usha Mehta started Congress Radio, which gave impetus to the freedom struggle at a time when the British government banned the Congress and put all its top leaders behind bars. In this story of Usha Mehta, the incidents ranging from setting up a radio station, fanning the flame of freedom to getting it shut down by the British government come to light. The film also tries to explain the need for communication at that time, which could have united the freedom struggle across India.

Advantages and disadvantages of the film
Talking about the story of the film and the characters associated with it, this inspiring story had all the qualities to make a great film, but this film has not been able to bring on the screen that thrill which gives goosebumps nor any emotionally scene. Has been able to create something that will shake the heart. The first part of the film is slow. Usha Mehta’s reason for joining the freedom struggle and having different thinking from her father has not been given much importance in the story. Very little focus has been placed on personal life. There is a little bit of excitement in this inspiring story, when the struggle to capture the radio station by the British begins, at that time a little interest in the film definitely increases, but then as the story progresses, it does not stop increasing. In this biopic film, the passion and passion for freedom of the youth of that era has also been shown, which is a good aspect but the film has not been able to portray the other characters properly. The backdrop of the film is 40’s. He is visible in the costumes and cinematography of the film, but he is missing in the dialogues. The style of communication is like the present times. The songs are in tune with the musical story.

Sarah has gone wrong again
Talking about acting, this is Sara Ali Khan’s film. He has tried hard to settle into his character, but he needs to work more on himself. It cannot be denied that at times his expressions have not been able to avoid being loud, which has diminished his acting in the film. Sparsh Srivastava has to be praised. Once again he has left a mark in his acting. He has beautifully integrated the role of a disabled youth with his body language. Abhay Verma has also done justice to his character. Emraan Hashmi shows his presence effectively. The work of the rest of the characters is as per the story.
