The Chief Minister of Bengal has directed the Chief Secretary of the state to ensure that the film is removed from the running screens in the state. Mamata Banerjee said that the decision has been taken to ‘maintain peace in Bengal’ and avoid any incidents of hate crime and violence. This comes a day after multiplexes in Tamil Nadu canceled screenings of the controversial film from Sunday.

Story of ‘The Kerala Story’
The story of Adah Sharma starrer The Kerala Story revolves around three girls from Kerala. It is shown in the film how they are converted, brainwashed and then sent to become terrorists in terrorist organizations like ISIS. There are many such scenes of oppression and rape on girls in the film which are disturbing. However, many such things have also been shown in this poignant story, which are not embraced.
