Now, in a special conversation with India Today, Yogita, who plays Neema in ‘The Kerala Story’, has given her opinion on the ban of the film in other states of the country including Britain. He said, ‘These matters are looked after by the directors and makers. But I really hope that whoever wants to see this film, we can release it in that state-country. We should be able to release films in those parts and I hope they will be able to watch it. I can really only hope.
Yogita said that everyone should watch this film
Some section of the society is calling the film a propaganda. When Yogita was questioned on this, she said, ‘Everyone has their own opinion. But I want to say this to him and request him to watch this film first. I think we have made this film against ISIS and it is about the safety of every woman irrespective of her religion, be it Hindu, Muslim or Sikh, Christian. The same is happening with Muslim girls.
Going to watch a movie wearing a burqa
Yogita further said, ‘I have many friends who told me that girls in burqas went to the theaters and saw the film and appreciated it. When you are in the industry, you know that everyone is entitled to their opinion and I respect everyone’s opinion. If anyone wants to watch the film and appreciate it, I am very grateful to them. And even if someone doesn’t want to see the film and says it’s something they don’t relate to, I really respect their opinion too.
Yogita spoke on the earnings of the film
The film has so far earned more than Rs 100 crore. About the same, the actress said, ‘It’s great. We never thought that it would earn so much. I am very happy that so many people are still going and watching the film. The film started on a good note but usually you don’t expect that from the second week. Even on Monday and Tuesday it did well. This is also a good sign for the industry. Now it is 100 crore rupees but counting is going on…!
