The murder of a young man who came to save the umpire

Cuttack (Uttam Hindu News): The Commissionerate Police in Odisha’s Choudwar on Sunday arrested four people in connection with the murder of a youth who tried to save an umpire from being attacked during a cricket match.
Police said the four accused, all residents of Berhampur village in Cuttack district, killed the youth when he came to save the umpire from attack over a ‘no ball’ decision.
Cuttack Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Pinak Mishra said the four accused would be produced in court on Monday.
Mr. Mishra said that on April 2, a cricket match was going on between Berhampur and Shankarpur villages in Mahisalanda village under Chaudwar police station area. During the match, when the umpire gave the decision of no ball, the four accused got angry with this decision and attacked the umpire.
He told that the main accused in the case assaulted the youth who came to the ground to save the umpire. The youth was rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack due to excessive bleeding, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The DCP said that on the basis of an FIR lodged at Choudwar police station, the police arrested one accused from Berhampur village and later three others were arrested.
