Ranchi. Even after saying goodbye to international cricket, the annual income of cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni has not been affected. His income in the financial year 2022-23 is expected to be almost equal to the income of the last year i.e. 2021-22. The advance tax deposited by him in the Income Tax Department confirms this. Dhoni has paid a total of Rs 38 crore as advance tax to the Income Tax Department for the financial year ended March 31 this year. Last year i.e. in the year 2021-22 also, he had deposited the same amount as advance tax. That is, this year his income has been equal to last year. In the year 2020-21, Dhoni had deposited an amount of around 30 crores as advance tax. According to highly placed sources of the Income Tax Department, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been the biggest individual tax payer of Jharkhand even this year.

According to experts, based on the advance tax of Rs 38 crore deposited by Dhoni, his income is expected to be around Rs 130 crore in the year 22-23.

According to the Income Tax Department data, ever since Dhoni started his career in international cricket, Jharkhand has consistently been the biggest income tax payer in the individual category. In the year 2019-20, he had paid 28 crores and before that in 2018-19 also almost the same amount was paid as income tax. Earlier, he had paid income tax of 12.17 crores in 2017-18 and 10.93 crores in 2016-17.

Obviously, on 15 August 2020, despite keeping distance from all formats of international cricket as a player, Dhoni is playing brilliant innings on the business pitch as well. As a cricketer, he has also announced his departure from IPL this year.

The former Indian captain has invested in several companies. He has also invested in sportswear, home interior company Homelane, used car buying and selling company Cars 24, startup company Khatabook, sports company Run Adam, cricket coaching and organic farming. He does organic farming in about 43 acres of land in Ranchi.(IANS)
