The producer of The Kerala Story donated Rs 51 lakh

Mumbai After the release of ‘The Kerala Story’ in UK, the team of the film addressed the media to celebrate the success of the film. According to its makers, the film may cross the Rs 190 crore mark in India today. ‘The Kerala Story’ has also faced opposition from some political parties and groups, who have claimed that the film is not based on facts and spreads hatred against the Muslim community.
The West Bengal government has announced a ban on ‘The Kerala Story’ in the state and exhibitors in Tamil Nadu have withdrawn it from cinema halls, but the film is still a commercial success.
At the press conference, filmmaker, Vipul Amrutlal Shah claimed that uncovering the truth was paramount.
People are trying to claim that this film is fake, the makers are lying and the film is dirty, which is not the case. Shah said the film is bigger than just the story of three girls.
Shah also announced a donation of Rs 51 lakh to the Arsh Vidya Samaj Ashram on the occasion, which takes care of conversion survivors. The makers also invited 26 girls from the ashram to interact with the media along with the cast of the film.
Significantly, ‘The Kerala Story’ is the story of a group of women from the state who convert to Islam and join the jihadist group ISIS.(IANS)
