In a recent interview with Humans of Bombay, Manoj Bajpayee revealed that he and Anurag Kashyap were not on talking terms for years, but it was all resolved with just one call from the filmmaker. He said, “I got the call around 10:30 pm, at which time I was about to retire for the day i.e. going to take rest. It was Anurag Kashyap’s call, whom I had not spoken to for many years. We had some conflict issues which were not resolved, but that one call demolished all the issues.
How did Manoj Bajpayee agree for Gangs of Wasseypur?
Manoj Bajpayee talked about playing the role of Sardar Khan in Gangs of Wasseypur and said, “(over the phone), Anurag told me he had something to give me and would I like to read it. So he sent me his car, I went to his office, he read me the script. And I said, ‘Please get a bottle of red wine.’ He ordered two bottles instead, we toasted and that’s how Sardar Khan (his character from Gangs of Wasseypur) happened.’
