Mount Maunganui (Uttam Hindu News): New Zealand’s experienced batsman Kane Williamson achieved a special feat in the first Test against South Africa and he left behind cricket legends Don Bradman and Virat Kohli in the list of most Test centuries. Kane Williamson achieved a special feat by scoring his 30th Test century. He scored a century in 241 balls with the help of 15 fours.
According to the ICC report, the 33-year-old batsman got a lease of life when Edward Moore dropped the catch. Taking advantage of this second opportunity, Williamson equaled Joe Root’s century total and surpassed the centuries of cricket legends Don Bradman and Virat Kohli. Both have 29 centuries in their name.
In a brilliant partnership, Williamson put on an unbeaten 219-run stand for the third wicket with Rachin Ravindra, who scored his maiden Test century, leaving New Zealand in a strong position at 258/2 at stumps. Despite the early dismissal of the openers by the inexperienced South African attack, the pair displayed excellent batting skills throughout the day. Till the end of the day’s play, Williamson remained unbeaten on 112 runs, while Ravindra also remained unbeaten on 118 runs. His innings included 13 fours and one six.
