Thunivu becomes 100 crores at domestic box office, second blockbuster

Ajith Kumar’s recent release Thunivu is doing well at the box office. The popularity and love that the film has been garnering ever since its release has fueled the box-office collection. In the first week, the film did good business at the ticket window. Directed by H Vinoth, the film has now successfully crossed the 100 crore mark at the box office. This has proved to be the second consecutive blockbuster film of Boney Kapoor, Ajith and H Vinod. Earlier, he had given Valimai which was screened on the occasion of Pongal last year.

Thunivu, starring Ajith in the lead, was slated to hit the theaters on January 11, 2023, ahead of Pongal. On 21 January, which was its 10th day, the film earned Rs 2.45 crore at the Indian box office. However, it saw a growth on Day 11, collecting Rs 4 crore at the ticket counter. The film managed to reach itself 100.20 crores at the domestic box office thanks to the 11th earned 4 crores. Looking at the way it is performing at the box office so far, it looks like the film will be successful in doing lifetime business of 150 crores at the box office.

But, with Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan all set to release in theaters on January 25, it will be interesting to see how the film’s craze continues to grow at the box office. Furthermore, Thunivu clashed with Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu at the box office. Both the films are doing equally well at the box office. Thunivu is doing very well internationally in its second week as well.

Thunivu is Ajith Kumar’s third collaboration with director H Vinoth and producer Boney Kapoor. The film, which released on January 11, features Thunvi as an anti-hero.
