Tilak was born on 8 November 2002 in Hyderabad. The economic condition of his family was not good. Tilak used to play tennis cricket in his childhood. Only then coach Salam Bayash got an eye on him and he not only taught Tilak cricket in the academy for free but also persuaded Tilak’s father to let him play cricket.
After this, Coach Salam started coaching him at the Cricket Academy in Telangana. Tilak’s father, however, later supported his son and found a job near Tilak’s academy as the academy was 40 kilometers away. Due to which Tilak along with the family started living near the academy.
Initially Tilak did not have the money to buy a bat. After learning cricket for a year, Tilak scored a century with a borrowed bat and never looked back. Tilak rained runs for four years and made his debut in Indian domestic cricket with the Vijay Merchant Trophy in the year 2021-22. Tilak scored 180 runs in this tournament.
After this, he joined the team of Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2022, where he also impressed the veterans with his batting. Tilak scored 397 runs in 14 matches in the first season. While winning everyone’s heart with his all-round shots.
After this, in IPL 2023, he scored 343 runs in 11 matches. While in domestic cricket, Hyderabad has scored 409 runs in 7 first class matches, 1236 runs in 25 List A matches and 1418 runs in 47 T20 matches. This is the reason that Tilak got the fruits of his hard work in the form of debut from T20 Team India.
The debut match was great for Tilak Verma and in this match he did wonders not only with the bat but also with his fielding. Tilak took two amazing catches in the match. After this, when Tilak got a chance to bat, he started batting as soon as he came to the crease. He started his innings by hitting two consecutive sixes and played a stormy inning of 39 runs. Tilak hit 3 sixes and 2 fours. During this, his strike rate was 177.27.
