Saudi said in the press conference, ‘Before the World Cup, you want to play together as much as possible. But I think you are focussing on Asia Cup. There is nothing better than giving your team a chance to play together. I believe the Asia Cup will be a big part of India’s preparations.
Southee conceded that the Indian batsmen would have devised proper strategies to face the left-arm pacers but added that his compatriot Trent Boult and Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi could pose problems for the batsmen.
He said, ‘Keeping left arm fast bowlers in the team is always a profitable deal. Batsmen usually face less such bowlers. The two left-arm fast bowlers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Trent Boult are excellent bowlers and have been a headache for many players over the years.
Saudi said, ‘I don’t think it will be a big issue. India have world-class players and they must have prepared a solid strategy for each bowler. The 34-year-old fast bowler said that New Zealand are hopeful that Kane Williamson will be fit for the World Cup.
He said, ‘Kane is doing everything possible from his side to be fit till the World Cup. We don’t know if he will be available until the World Cup is closer. In Kane’s case, we will have to wait.
