TJMM: After Pathan, audience gathered in theatres, earned 70 crores in 5 days

Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, which released on Wednesday, March 8, on the occasion of Holi, has opened to huge collections at the box office. The film, which had a business of 15.73 crores on the opening day, saw a decline of more than 35 percent in the second and third, but on the weekend days, Saturday and Sunday, the film achieved tremendous success in connecting the audience with itself. In the extended weekend from Wednesday to Sunday, the film has managed to cross the Rs 70 crore mark at the box office. It has become the second highest grossing film at the Hindi box office this year after Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan. Though Pathan was followed by Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar and Shehzada and Selfie by big stars were released, but both these films proved to be complete flops at the box office.
Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar saw a big jump in its collections on Sunday. The film has earned Rs 17.08 crore on the previous day i.e. Sunday. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh gave this information through a tweet. He wrote in tweeting, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar has earned handsomely on the extended weekend. The film has got an extra push on Saturday and Sunday. Significantly, the film directed by Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, directed by Luv Ranjan, collected Rs 16.56 crore on Saturday, whereas on Sunday, the film has earned Rs 17.08 crore. Accordingly, the film has so far collected Rs 70.24 crore.
Made in a budget of around Rs 100 crore, Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar collected Rs 15.73 crore on the opening day i.e. on Wednesday. However, after the Holi holiday, there was a tremendous drop in the film’s earnings on Thursday. On Thursday, the film had collected only Rs 10.34 crore.
