New Delhi. India batsman Prithvi Shaw has said that he has started living alone. He said that whenever he steps out, people harass him and a problem arises.
He also said that he was disappointed when he was dropped from the Indian team but decided to move on.
Shaw’s rise to the top was easy. He won the Under-19 World Cup as captain and made his international debut with a Test century.
However, despite such performances, he could not cement a place in the national team.
Despite making his Test debut in 2018, he has not played any international match in the last two years. He also had a disappointing IPL 2023, where he managed just 106 runs in eight matches at an average of 13.25.
Shaw told Cricbuzz, ‘”When I was dropped (from the Indian team), I did not know the reason. Somebody was saying that it could be fitness. But of course I came here (Bengaluru) and the NCA Passed all the tests in 2016. Scored runs and got back in T20 team again. But didn’t get chance again in West Indies. I am disappointed but just have to move on.
He said that he wants to remain confined to himself. He stressed that he is afraid to share his views as it all comes down to social media.
Shaw said, “As a person, I just like to be myself. People say a lot of things about me. But people who know me, they also know who I am. I have No friends, I don’t like making friends. I am afraid to share my thoughts. One way or the other it all comes out on social media. I have very few friends, few friends, and even with them I am everything I don’t share, I only share some things.”
“If I go out, people will bother. They will put something on social media, so I don’t like to go out these days. Wherever I go, trouble arises. I have stopped going out altogether. . These days, I even go out for lunch and dinner alone. I love being alone now.”
Shaw is all set to play for Northamptonshire for the rest of the county cricket season in England and will also be a part of the Royal London One-Day Cup starting in August.
