DGC Junior/Sub-Junior Boys & Girls Golf Tournament 2023: 100 participants in the age group of 8 to 21 years will participate in this three-day event

New Delhi: The 13th DGC Junior/Sub-Junior Golf Tournament 2023 presented by USHA began today at the prestigious Delhi Golf Club in New Delhi. 100 golfers aged 8 to 21 will compete in the three-day event (July 19 to 21), with 18 holes per day and played at both the Lodhi and Peacock Golf Courses. Usha’s commitment to the growth and development of sport in India is underlined by its over three decades old association with the Delhi Golf Club. The tee-off will be done by DGC Club Champion Pratap Atwal who is also the Vaulter Matchplay Champion.

The tournament represents a test of skill, focus and determination, with the most promising young generation of golfers participating. These include Sharanya Agarwal (Handicap-1), Kashika Mishra (Handicap-2), Chaitanya Pandey (Youngest Indian Winner of European US Kids 2019) and Sandeep Kadian (Winner/Sub-Juniors of DGC Juniors) from New Jersey, USA golf tournament 2022) among others. Delhi Golf Club has waived off entry fees for a total of 30 underprivileged juniors to encourage inclusion. This includes 15 caddies from DGC, 7 from Jindli Village (supported by Golf Foundation), 8 from Ultimate Foundation (Golden Greens), and 1 caddy from Golmuri Golf Club.

Commenting on the initiative, Komal Mehra, Head, Sports Initiatives and Associations, said, “Our partnership with Delhi Golf Club goes back a long way and reflects our shared commitment to nurture young talent in particular. It is heartening to see an increasing number of youngsters participating in these events, not only in the country but also at the international level, making a mark in the world of golf. We look forward to witnessing some exceptional talent over the next three days.
