Ukrainian singer Uma Shanti booked for insulting tricolor in Pune

Mumbai (Uttam Hindu News): A case has been registered against Ukrainian singer of Shanti People band Uma Shanti for insulting the Indian tricolor. The singer allegedly disrespected the national flag of India and committed a legal offense during a concert at a club in Mundwa, Pune, for which proceedings have been initiated.
The incident took place on Sunday night and was caught on camera. Later this clip went viral on social media. According to media reports, a case was registered at Mundhwa police station against Uma, the lead singer of the band Shanti Peepal, by constable Tanaji Deshmukh after the video of the alleged crime spread like wildfire on various social media platforms.
According to the FIR, Shanti, the frontman of the Ukrainian band Shanti People, danced with the tricolor in both her hands and later threw the flags towards the audience.
Shanti People, a Ukrainian band on tour in India, performed in Bengaluru and Bhopal last week. The second performance of this band took place in Pune on Sunday. In Pune city, it also introduced the program in October last year.
