Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah has grabbed attention after Pakistani actor Mansha Pasha reacted to his recent statement. In his statement, the veteran actor mentioned that Sindhi language is no longer spoken in Pakistan. Mansha Pasha expressed her opposition to Naseeruddin’s comment through a tweet and this statement has created quite a stir on the internet.
Naseeruddin recently discussed the many languages spoken in Pakistan during the promotion of the web series ‘Taj: Reign of Revenge Season 2’. According to the actor, Sindhi is no longer spoken in Pakistan. He said, “They have Balochi, they have Bari, they have Seraiki and they have Pashto. Of course, Sindhi is no longer spoken in Pakistan.” Naseeruddin’s comment prompted Pakistani actor Mansha to respond and write on Twitter. Pasha, wife of Pakistan’s well-known lawyer and human rights activist Jibran Nasir, wrote that “I am a proud Sindhi who speaks Sindhi language at home and I do not find his statement correct.”
Naseeruddin Shah’s comment has not gone down well with Pakistanis and various reactions are being given from their side and people say that Sindhi language is widely spoken in Pakistan. Naseeruddin’s comment attracted a lot of attention and netizens were enraged. A user wrote, “Sometimes a wise man like Naseeruddin Shah can make an innocent mistake. Sindhi is a beautiful language and is spoken all over Sindh. I am sure now he knows that he spoke wrong.” Another user commented, “This is too bad. Most people in Sindh speak Sindhi. This includes almost all rural and semi-urban Urdu and Pashto speaking communities. In Karachi, a lot of my Urdu friends understand Sindhi and many Can speak it from.” A third user wrote, “Nothing is more welcoming and warm than a Sindhi. Whenever Sindhis are in Punjab or anywhere else, they hear people talking to them in Sindhi language.”
In recent times, Naseeruddin Shah appeared in the second season of the show titled “Taj: Reign of Revenge”. Premiering on Zee5 on May 12, 2023, the series featured Rahul Bose, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sandhya Mridul and Zarina Wahab in lead roles.
