The Vaishno Devi Shrine Board is leaving no stone unturned in its efforts to attract visitors to this pilgrimage site, but it is worried about the record of devotees coming in December in the last several years. In such a situation, he does not think that the number of devotees in Vaishno Devi will be able to break the record of the year 2012 when 1.04 crore pilgrims had come, but he is definitely hopeful of breaking the record of the year 2013 when 93.23 lakh devotees had come.

Shrine Board officials are regretting this

This is the reason that the officials of Vaishno Devi Shrine Board will regret not being able to touch the new record of the number of devotees coming this time because till now 88.59 lakh devotees have participated in the yatra whereas the record of the last several years shows that in December Only around 6.50 lakh devotees have been coming to visit Vaishno Devi.

Devotees’ enthusiasm about the journey

This year, there is enthusiasm among the devotees regarding the journey of Maa Vaishno Devi. 88.59 lakh devotees have visited in 11 months. This figure is 2.96 lakh more than in 11 months of last year. In the year 2022, 85.63 lakh devotees had reached the Darbar in 11 months. Looking at the way the enthusiasm of the devotees remains, it seems that this year the yatra figure will exceed the figure of 2013. In the year 2013, 93.23 lakh devotees had come for darshan.

Vaishno Devi journey accelerates after freedom from Corona

However, after freedom from Corona, the journey to Vaishno Devi gained momentum. That’s why the record of the year 2021 has long been broken. In the year 2021, 55.88 lakh devotees had darshan of the Pindis of Vaishno Devi. The numbers for the year 2021 were also reassuring because due to Corona, only 17.20 lakh devotees could come in the year 2020. This number was disappointing.

Maximum number of devotees came in the month of June

The beginning of this year has started filling new enthusiasm among the traders of Katra besides the Shrine Board. So far this year, the maximum number of devotees had come in the month of June. The happiness given by about 11.29 lakh devotees in June still continues. Although according to officials, the number of visitors this year may hardly break the record of 2012 when 104.90 lakh devotees had come, but the hope remains that the record of 2013 will definitely be broken when 93.24 lakh devotees had paid obeisance.

Anyway, due to winter and wedding season, the number of daily visitors to Vaishno Devi Yatra is only 10-18 thousand, which is expected to reach 50 to 60 thousand in the second fortnight because of the hospitality of the hoteliers of Katra. According to this, more than 90 percent bookings have been done for the last week of December. This was the reason why Shrine Board officials and businessmen were expecting an increase in the number and the Shrine Board was definitely busy in preparations to provide maximum facilities for the winter visitors.

At present so many devotees are arriving every day

At present 10,000 to 18,000 devotees are coming every day for darshan. Shrine Board CEO Anshul Garg says that as the pilgrimage is increasing, the facilities for the devotees are also being continuously expanded. Anshul Garg expresses hope that once again the number of visits to Vaishno Devi will cross the figure of one crore.
