Varun Samantha’s Citadel is not a remake of Priyanka’s Citadel

Samantha Ruth Prabhu will soon be seen in the Indian version of Prime Video’s spy thriller web series Citadel. Varun Dhawan will also be seen with him. One of her fans wondered whether people would watch the Indian version, given that Priyanka Chopra’s Citadel premiered last month in various Indian languages. Samantha reminded fans that the Indian version is not a remake.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu reminded fan that her show is not a remake of Priyanka Chopra’s web show of the same name, but an Indian version.

Samantha has recently posted pictures of her birthday celebrations. In the comment section of the post, one of her fans wrote, “I have a question is Priyanka’s show Citadel and yours the same story?” Why am I asking Priyanka’s Citadel is dubbed in all Indian languages… So if you are also making this show then same story for Indian audience then many people must have seen it already. I’m a bit confused… can you clarify whether it’s the same or different?

Responding to the comment, Samantha wrote, this is not a remake! Another fan of Samantha also explained it all and wrote, Citadel Main Series has different spin-offs in different countries. And one of the spin-off casting is the pairing of Samantha and Varun which is an Indian spin-off. It also has Spanish, Italian and Mexican spin-offs that run parallel to the main series and have little or no merging with the main series. Hope this clarifies your question!

The Indian version of Citadel is being directed by The Family Man director-duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, with whom Samantha worked in The Family Man 2.
