Meghna Gulzar’s latest directorial venture ‘Sam Bahadur’ has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide. This came 17 days after its theatrical release. Released on December 1, the Vicky Kaushal-starrer has been able to counter the theatrical dominance of Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ and continues to perform well at the box office.
Vicky Kaushal’s third 100 crore film after Raazi and Uri
According to Saknilak box office report, ‘Sam Bahadur’ has earned Rs 90.50 crore (approximately Rs 76.60 crore) in India and approximately Rs 14.50 crore overseas. With this the total earning of the film has become Rs 105 crore. This will be Vicky Kaushal’s third Rs 100 crore film after ‘Raazi’ and ‘Uri’.
An impressive feat, the film successfully overcame stiff competition from ‘Animal’ despite being released on a smaller scale. The positive response from the audience, especially Vicky Kaushal’s performance, played a significant role in the success of the film. The good performance of the film is expected to continue when ‘Donkey’ and ‘Salaar: Part One – Ceasefire’ hit the theaters on 21st and 22nd December. Respectively.
