Quetta:Pakistan Super League 2023 is starting from 13 February. However, before that an exhibition match was played between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi to popularize the tournament. In the match, Iftikhar Ahmed thrashed fast bowler Wahab Riaz fiercely and created a ruckus by hitting 6 sixes in 6 balls in the last over of the innings. Iftikhar is a member of the Quetta Gladiators team, which is captained by Sarfaraz Ahmed, while Peshawar Zalmi is led by Babar Azam. Under the captaincy of Babar Azam, big players like Shahid Afridi are preparing to take the field in Peshawar’s PSL.

Iftikhar Ahmed played an unbeaten inning of 94 runs for Quetta in the match. Babar Azam had decided to bowl first after winning the toss in the match. Peshawar Zalmi’s start in bowling was also strong but Iftikhar held the front alone from one end.

In the 20th over of the innings, Iftikhar made Wahab Riaz his target. He hit the entire stadium with enthusiasm by hitting consecutive sixes in the first three balls. What was it then Wahab changed the angle to stop Iftikhar but where was he going to stop. Iftikhar hit a six on the last three balls of the over. With this Iftikhar’s explosive innings, Quetta’s team scored 185 runs in the stipulated 20 overs.

Although Wahab’s bowling was excellent till this last over and he also took three wickets in his name, but after spending 36 runs in the last over, he also proved to be the most expensive bowler for Peshawar. Let us tell you that Wahab has been one of the premier fast bowlers of Pakistan cricket, although he is now seen only in the Pakistan Super League.

On the other hand, Iftikhar is a fast emerging player for the Pakistani team. Iftikhar’s performance in the recent Bangladesh Premier League was commendable. Apart from this, he is also getting continuous opportunities in the national team under the captaincy of Babar Azam.

Pakistan Super League 2023 is starting from 13 February. The first match of the tournament will be played between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars. The league stage will be played starting from 13th February till 12th March while the qualifiers round will start from 15th March. And the final match will be played on March 19.

All the matches of Pakistan Super will be played at a total of four venues which include Multan, Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi.
