Vinesh Phogat along with 7 wrestlers went to the Supreme Court against Brij Bhushan Singh

Pudhari Online : Vinesh Phogat and seven other wrestlers have moved the Supreme Court for registering an FIR against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Brij Bhushan Singh. He has filed a petition in this regard. On 21st April, he sat for a long time at the Connaught Place police station to register the FIR, but the police did not register the FIR.
In the meantime, the Union Sports Ministry would have appointed an inquiry committee to investigate the issue of sexual harassment of female wrestlers. The Delhi Police has asked for an inquiry report from the committee in the wake of wrestling’s cheating episode and once again starting the movement.

Brij Bhushan Singh, President of Wrestling Federation of India, has been accused of sexual misconduct by women wrestlers. So far seven complaints have been received against Singh and investigation is on in this regard. As part of the investigation, the report of the committee set up by the Sports Ministry has been sought, according to a senior officer of Delhi Police. The officials also mentioned that concrete evidence was found against Singh that a case would be filed against him.
Along with wrestlers Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat, other wrestlers have started a dharna movement at Jantar Mantar from Sunday for action against wrestler Brijbhushan Singh. “We are not attached to any party. At this time BJP, Congress, AAP or any other party, all parties are welcome to participate in our endeavor”, said Bajrang Punia.
