Visually impaired students perform a drama to mark the rollout of TV show ‘Shravani’

MumbaiVisually impaired students performed a skit at the launch event of TV show ‘Shravani’, which aimed to raise awareness about how visually impaired people overcome challenges they face in their daily lives. The show is inspired by the character of Shravan Kumar from Ramayana. In this, Gaurika Sharma (8) will be seen playing the role of Shravani, who takes care of her blind parents.
Gaurika said: “I am very excited to be a part of ‘Shravani’. There is a lot of emotion, drama and fun in the show. I feel very fortunate to play the lead role in this show. I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.” After the play, the National Association for the Blind (NAB) participated in a few games with the cast and the media to inform everyone that How blind people use their other senses to accomplish tasks.
Aarti Singh who plays the negative role in the show said: “I am thrilled to be a part of ‘Shravani’ and play the role of Chandra. Her character is the epitome of wickedness and deceit, and I can’t wait to bring her alive on screen.”Later, NAB Director Pallavi Kadam expressed her gratitude and said that the aim of the organization is to create awareness among people.
The show stars Gaurika Sharma, Preetika Chauhan, Vicky Singh, Aarti Singh, Manmohan Singh and Shivani Chakraborty in lead roles. The story narrates how a little girl helps her parents in their daily life and takes care of her father after an accident. Tries to help her regain her sight. Her ultimate goal is to become an ophthalmologist to cure and help people. The show will go on air from 24th April on Shemaroo Umang.
