Taking to Twitter, the director said, “This is to inform you that due to security reasons the venue of the book signing of #UrbanNaxals has been shifted from Quest Mall to Starmark Book Shop, South City Mall.” They said I have been informed that since Quest Mall is a Muslim area, it is not safe. Making the announcement on Twitter, he also retweeted a post by BJP’s media chief Amit Malviya, who shared a video of some local Muslim residents who had taken shelter inside Quest Mall a few days ago, as the weather in Kolkata is in bad condition. Elaborating on the change of venue, Vivek Agnihotri took a jibe at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for allowing ‘Muslim Indians’ to ‘hijack a mall illegally’.

TMC MLA Babul Supriyo reacted
Quest Mall falls under Babul’s constituency and he promised in a tweet that he would ensure Vivek’s security. “I am not helpless… I was when I was in the communal party @BJP4India who gave me the title of ‘rioter’ without any fault. Please come to Kolkata a day before. I challenge you to have the best book release of your life. I will personally take care.
Now in a latest tweet, Vivek has targeted Babul. “Babul, yesterday you could not ensure my safety in your constituency, despite knowing it very well beforehand. Because the mall is in a Muslim area and they hijacked the posh mall and your government remained a mute spectator. Whole Bengal knows who is communal, except those who hijacked the mall. Leave it now, accept the reality and get back to the wonderful world of music.
Vivek is the filmmaker behind 2021’s The Kashmir Files. He is now working on his next film The Vaccine War. Film director Vivek Agnihotri on Wednesday announced that he has shifted the venue of his book signing event to Kolkata due to “security reasons”.
friends,
It’s a very tragic and alarming situation that in India, an Indian author isn’t allowed in an Indian mall because that area is dominated by Muslim Indians. @MamataOfficial has officially allowed them to illegally hijack a mall.
Ironically, the book is #UrbanNaxals, https://t.co/DffSr9VAaa— Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri (@vivekagnihotri) April 20, 2023
