Mumbai (Uttam Hindu News): Abhishek Banerjee, who will soon be seen in a negative role in the film ‘Apoorva’, has revealed how his first film ‘Stree’ was a big risk for his career. Abhishek Banerjee mesmerized everyone with his acting in ‘Stree’ and now he will be seen in dark shade in the upcoming film ‘Apoorva’. Talking about the film ‘Stree’, he said: “’Stree’, my first film, was a huge risk. It was difficult to play that character. It was difficult to keep that character real and believable, but adding elements of horror and comedy was a risk.”
Before doing this film, I had done an indie film ‘Ajji’ and on the first day of shooting, our director Amar Kaushik told me in front of everyone that I need to come out of ‘Ajji’. This made me depressed and I started doing anything and found the character.”
Abhishek was recently seen in the film ‘Dream Girl 2’, which is a comedy film and now he will be seen in a negative role in ‘Apoorva’. Talking about how he transitions into characters, he said, “I get nervous before any shoot. After ‘Dream Girl’ and ‘Apoorva’, I met my co-star, who is the king of comedy (Rajpal Yadav) and developed a gangster chemistry.”
He said, “After doing the initial scene, I knew I was in safe hands. Sometimes your co-stars help you a lot. Also I think it’s the energy of the set that helps you switch. We actors are chameleons and we need to change our colors with every different set.”
‘Apoorva’, a crime thriller film written and directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhatt, stars Tara Sutaria, Abhishek Banerjee, Dhairya Karwa and Rajpal Yadav in the lead roles. The film is about a mysterious girl, Apoorva, who is kidnapped by a gang of criminals.
The film is all set to release on Disney+Hotstar on November 15.
