When Amitabh Bachchan was surprised to see Vada Pav being sold in Europe, narrated the story

New Delhi . Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who is hosting ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 15’, told how Maharashtra’s most favorite dish ‘Vada Pav’ is famous in Bulgaria, Europe.

In episode 86 of the quiz-based reality show, host Amitabh welcomed Dilip Mohan Shimpi from Nandurbar, Maharashtra to the hot seat.

For Rs 2,000, contestants were asked the question: “Which of the following main ingredients consists of a type of bread and a potato?”

The options given were – Jalebi, Vada Pav, Pulao and Rava Idli. The correct answer was ‘Vada Pav’.

The ‘Don’ actor further added, “’Vada Pav’ is a tasty snack, sir. In Maharashtra, one can survive an entire life only on ‘Vada Pav’, especially in Mumbai.”

The 81-year-old actor further narrated an anecdote and shared: ”’Vada Pav’ is a popular breakfast not only in Mumbai but across the world. A few years ago I went to Bulgaria to shoot a film. Bulgaria is in Europe. I saw ‘Vada Pav’ being sold there in Bulgaria.

Amitabh said, “I asked him what is this.” He told me in his own language, ‘It is tasty and very popular here.’ I asked him, ‘Who made this?’ He said, ‘A local here makes them.’ And he enjoyed it. Foreign people were eating ‘Vada Pav’ with great enthusiasm.
