Bengaluru: Indian cricket fans are happy with the thrilling victory after two super overs in the final T20 match against Afghanistan. Meanwhile, Indian captain Rohit Sharma praised middle-order batsman Rinku Singh and said that whenever this player gets a chance, he leaves his mark.

Rohit became the first player to score five T20 centuries with his unbeaten 121 off 69 balls at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday night.

India scored 212/4. More importantly, she shared a 190-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Rinku, who remained unbeaten on 69 off 39 balls.

This became India’s highest partnership for the fifth wicket in T20s, breaking the previous record of 113 runs set by Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma said, “It was important to have a partnership. I kept talking to Rinku. We can find ourselves in such situations in big matches where we are at 30 for 4. The excitement of the match among the fans increased further when the first super over also remained tied at the score of 16-16. But in the second super over, Rohit Sharma and Ravi Bishnoi ensured India’s victory.

Shivam Dubey was named Player of the Series for scoring 124 runs and taking two wickets in India’s 3–0 win.

Afghanistan captain Ibrahim Zadran looked ahead to some of the exciting aspects of this series, including being part of a double Super Over.
