Why don’t the people of Uddhav Thackeray group like Sonu Nigam’s nationalist views?

Sonu Nigam is not only recognized as a famous singer, but he is also known for taking a dig at the anti-India people and those who create hurdles in the path of progress of the country. Sonu Nigam is also known for fiercely questioning the intentions of those who commit unrighteousness in the name of religion, those who promote the mentality of Jihad in the guise of religion and those who try to divide the society on the basis of caste and class. It is obvious that Sonu Nigam, who always holds the torch of nationalism, will be angry with those people who find his words of devotion to India indignant. The manner in which the son of Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena’s MLA manhandled Sonu Nigam in Mumbai and badly injured his colleague, shows the frustrated mindset of the attackers.

Let us tell you that a case has been registered against the son of an MLA for pushing famous singer Sonu Nigam while taking a selfie at a concert in Mumbai and assaulting two of his companions. The police officer has said that one of Sonu Nigam’s accomplices was injured in the incident that took place after Sonu Nigam’s live performance at Chembur Gymkhana on Monday. Later the video of the incident surfaced on social media. Based on a complaint received from the corporation, the Chembur police registered an FIR under sections 323, 341 and 337 of the Indian Penal Code against Swapnil Phatterpekar, son of local Shiv Sena MLA Prakash Phatterpekar, the police officer said. According to Sonu Nigam’s complaint, he and his colleagues were leaving the stage after the performance when a man came from behind and grabbed the singer. The person was later identified as Swapnil Futterpekar. The accused wanted to click a picture with singer Sonu Nigam.

As per the complaint, Sonu Nigam’s aide Hari Prakash tried to stop the accused and took him aside. The police official quoted the complaint as saying that the accused manhandled Hari Prakash, due to which he fell down from the stage. As per the complaint, the accused then pushed Sonu Nigam, due to which he too fell down the stairs. The complaint states that when Rabbani Khan, another associate of Sonu Nigam, came forward to help him, the accused assaulted him as well. During this Rabbani Khan also fell. The official said that the injured Rabbani Khan was taken to a private hospital in Chembur. The police officer said that Sonu Nigam went to the Chembur police station in the early hours of Tuesday and recorded his statement and lodged a complaint against the accused. The case is being investigated.

On the other hand, Sonu Nigam told the media after the incident that a man caught hold of me to take a selfie, then pushed me. He said that my companion was saved from death. On the other hand, the sister of the accused in a tweet has officially apologized to Sonu Nigam and his team on behalf of the organizers for the untoward incident. He said that when Sonu Nigam was hurriedly being escorted off the stage after performing, his brother was trying to take a selfie with the singer. He tweeted, “There was a ruckus because of the haste and commotion.”

Meanwhile, this issue has now taken a political form as well. Condemning the incident, BJP spokesperson Shahzad Jai Hind said that the Uddhav army has now become an army of goons. He said that in the desperation of going to power, the people of Uddhav group are now resorting to violence.
