Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayan is one of the much-awaited films of the actor. The film, directed by Nitish Tiwari, has been regularly making headlines, despite no official confirmation from its makers. Several reports about the star cast of the film have surfaced recently, such as the names of Sai Pallavi and Alia Bhatt for the role of Goddess Sita were circulating online. Now a report has claimed that TV actress Sakshi Tanwar has been selected for the role of Ravana’s wife Mandodari.

According to a report in Filmy Beat, director Nitish Tiwari has decided to cast Sakshi for the role of Mandodari. He is excited to share screen time with KGF star Yash, who will play the role of Ravana in the film, and the team has been going for a script-reading session.

In the same report, it has also been claimed that Lara Dutta and Rakul Preet Singh were also part of these reading sessions. Lara will reportedly play the lead role of Kaikeyi, while there are also reports of Rakul playing the role of Shurpanakha.

Earlier, a report in Pinkvilla suggested that Vijay Sethupathi has been roped in to play the role of Ravana’s brother Vibhishana.

A close source was quoted as saying ”Nitesh Tiwari recently met Vijay Sethupathi and told him about the script and the world he wants to create with Ramayana. Pinkvilla quoted a source close to the development as saying, “Vijay was amazed by the narration and visuals and expressed his interest in the film.”

Not only this, recently there were reports of Sunny Deol playing the role of Lord Hanuman. This film is going to be released on the big screen on the occasion of Diwali next year.
