Windows first Hindi venture Shastri Viruddh Shastri to be screened for Rajya Sabha members at Parliament Library Building

New Delhi. Windows Productions is thrilled to announce that their debut Hindi film Shastri Viruddh Shastri, co-produced with Viacom 18 and created by Bengal’s acclaimed director duo Nandita Roy and Shiboprasad Mukherjee, for a special screening for the Members of the Rajya Sabha. has been chosen. The screening is scheduled to begin at 11:30 am on March 23, 2024, at GMC Balayogi Auditorium, Parliament Library Building.

Shastri Viruddh Shastri has garnered a lot of attention since its release and has made it to the top 10 list of Netflix. The film’s compelling story with stellar performances from talented actors like Paresh Rawal, Neena Kulkarni, Manoj Joshi, Shiv Pandit, Mimi Chakraborty, Kabir Paava and others has enthralled audiences across the country. The film has been written by Anu Singh Chaudhary along with the directors.

Notably, the special screening at Rajya Sabha will have the gracious presence of Shri Paresh Rawal, Secretary General of Rajya Sabha and renowned actor who plays a pivotal role in the film. Co-director Nandita Roy will also be present to witness this historic event.

Expressing his heartfelt appreciation for the film, Paresh Rawal shared his feelings with director Shiboprasad Mukherjee and said that I am very overwhelmed and impressed by the wonderful film you have given me. All I can say is that I love you and pray to God to give you a long life. My career as an actor would have been completely incomplete if I had not done this film. What a good film you have made, Dada! I’m grateful that someone tackled such a topic. It’s so heartwarming the way you do it. Dada, I love you so much…Thank you for your film.

Shiboprasad, on his part, said that my friend, Debashish Saha, who lives in Delhi, had a long-standing dream that we should screen the film in Parliament. His dream is coming true with this screening and it is a big thing for me. ‘Shastri Viruddh Shastri’ is our first Hindi film which received appreciation from everywhere. I once met Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi in Mumbai, who said that a film is like a river, which will flow without you telling it. This has happened with this film, which found its audience. I am happy that not only has it made it to the Netflix Top 10 and maintained its position for 20 days, but now it is also going to be screened for Rajya Sabha members.
