Cape Town (Uttam Hindu News): Sunrisers reached their second consecutive SA20 final with an impressive 51-run win over Durban Supergiants in Qualifier 1. Captain Aiden Markram shared his thoughts after this memorable win.
Sunrisers’ 44-run win over Paarl Royals in the final league stage match cemented their position as one of the strongest challengers for the trophy. Speaking on reaching the final for the second consecutive year, Sunrisers Eastern Cape captain Aiden Markram said, “I wouldn’t say there is anything new that we have done or tried. If we look at the group stages of the competition, we see very close matches.
If you manage to win those close games, or at least most of them, you are in a strong position. So we were fortunate to be able to win those close games.” Markram, who is currently the captain of South Africa T20 and ODI teams. He also discussed his tenure as Sunrisers captain and said that it has been an experience of learning a lot of new things.
He said, “As captain, I have got the opportunity to learn a lot. I have been captaining for some time. So it is good to be the captain and take this responsibility. “I love the opportunity to be captain and the responsibilities that come with it. A lot of credit for this goes to the management of the SEC. I am not sure about the IPL yet, but if I compare it with last year, you will find different cultures and different people in relation to SA20 and IPL.”
