Women now believe that they too have equal opportunities in career as men. The report is based on an online survey of over 10,000 women working in various industries conducted in July.

Improvement in gender gap shown in latest report of World Economic Forum
In the World Economic Forum’s report 2023, there has been a slight improvement in India’s ranking in terms of gender equality. However, despite this, India is still far behind the countries around the world. India’s ranking is 127 out of 146 countries around the world. Compared to last year, India’s ranking has improved by eight points this time. In the World Economic Forum’s 2022 report, India’s ranking was 135 out of 146 countries. It has been told in the latest report that this year India’s ranking has improved by 1.4 percentage points as compared to last year. Although there is a very low pace in terms of economic participation, in this India has reached only 36.7 percent. In terms of gender equality, the ranking of Nepal, Bhutan, China, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh is much better than India. In this index, Bangladesh has got 59th rank, China 107th, Nepal 116th, Bhutan 103rd and Sri Lanka 115th. Whereas Pakistan has been placed at 142nd rank. Among countries around the world, the best performer has been Iceland, which has reduced the gender gap by more than 90 percent for the 14th consecutive year.
