Dubai. India’s Harleen Deol has gained 32 places in the ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings after being adjudged Player of the Match for her team’s top-scoring 77 in the final ODI against Bangladesh.

Harleen has moved up to 51st in the latest ICC rankings, while Jemimah Rodrigues, who scored a match-winning 86 in the second ODI, has moved up 41 places to 55th.

In the batting rankings, India’s Smriti Mandhana has moved up one place to sixth, but skipper Harmanpreet Kaur has slipped two places to eighth.

Deepti Sharma (9) and Rajeshwari Gaikwad (10) have retained their positions in the top 10 in the bowlers’ list, while Sneh Rana has moved up three places to be at 38th. Deepti (7) has also retained her position in the rankings for all-rounders.

England all-rounder Natalie Sciver-Brunt became the top-ranked batsman in the ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings for the first time in her career after scoring a match-winning century in the final ODI of the ICC Women’s Championship series against Australia in Taunton last Tuesday.

Sciver-Brunt’s score of 129, following an unbeaten 111 in the previous match, saw her overtaken by Australia’s Beth Mooney. She has extended her lead over West Indies captain Hayley Mathews at the top of the rankings for all-rounders to 39 rating points.

Australia all-rounder Ashley Gardner has moved up two places to a career-best third position in the all-rounders’ list, while also achieving career-best positions in the batting and bowling rankings. He has moved up four places to 21st among batsmen after scoring 41 at Taunton and fifth among bowlers after taking three for 39, which was followed by two more three-wicket hauls.

Other players to move up after the series include England’s Danny Wyatt (up three places to 18th) and Australia’s Tahlia McGrath (up two places to 32nd) among batsmen and England off-spinner Charlie Dean (up two places to 13th) among bowlers.

In the latest weekly update, which also takes into account the performances in the last two matches of the drawn ICC Women’s Championship series between Bangladesh and India, Bangladesh players Fargana Haque and Nahida Akhtar have scaled new heights.

Fargana’s 565 rating points is the most by any female batsman in Bangladesh, and she became the first player from her country to break into the top 20 (19th position) after scoring 107 runs in the tied final ODI at Mirpur. The previous best was Rumana Ahmed’s 25th in February 2017.

Left-arm spinner Nahida’s figures of three for 37 in the last ODI have helped her reach 19th position in the bowling rankings. The previous best performance by a Bangladesh bowler was 20th by Salma Khatoon in December 2022. (IANS)
