World Environment Day: Easy ways to save the environment for children, if told today, their life will be better – world environment day theme and activities for kids

Run by the United Nations, World Environment Day aims to raise awareness about the issues currently facing the environment and encourage people to save the environment. The first World Environment Day was organized in 1973 and since then the day is celebrated globally by millions of people including primary teachers and their students.
World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5 June. In 2023, this day is falling on Friday, 5th June and here we are telling you how you can celebrate this day with your kids.

What is the theme of World Environment Day
Every year, the event has a different theme to raise awareness about specific environmental issues and discuss solutions to combat these global topics. In 2023, the theme for World Environment Day is about finding solutions to #BeatPlasticPollution.

what activities to do
Make children aware about the harm caused by plastic. Make your children aware and encourage them not to use plastic in the classroom and at home as well. Apart from this, keep a ‘No Plastic Month’ in which children are asked not to use plastic at all. Ask children to use recycled items instead of pens and pencils in plastic stationery.
