January 23: Formation of monitoring committee
A five-member inspection committee was constituted under the chairmanship of Khel Ratna awardee Mary Kom to investigate the allegations. The committee was given four weeks to complete the probe. But the protesting wrestlers express disappointment that they were not consulted by the government on the choice of committee members. April 28: Delhi Police registers two FIRs against Brij Bhushan
The Delhi Police registered two FIRs against Brij Bhushan Singh, one under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act and the other related to outraging the modesty of a woman. He says that the government had assured him that the police investigation against Brij Bhushan Singh would be completed by then and the pending WFI elections would be held by June 30.
