Comedian Kapil Sharma, who is known for his perfect comic timing and making millions of people laugh, appeared in a different avatar. He played the role of delivery boy on the big screen.
The digital release of Kapil Sharma-starrer ‘Zvigato’ is creating a lot of excitement. According to reports, fans can expect the film to premiere on the popular OTT platform Netflix later this year. However, nothing has been said officially yet.
Apart from Kapil Sharma, Shahana Goswami, Gul Panag, Sayani Gupta and Swanand Kirkire also play important roles in the film. It was extensively shot in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, so the state government had declared the film tax-free.
The film had a disastrous run at the box office and reportedly collected only Rs 3.53 crore. The film revolves around a man named Manas (Kapil Sharma) whose life changes when he loses his job as a floor manager and becomes a food delivery man to survive.
The film depicts his struggles as a delivery man whose income is affected by the depth of his ratings. He realizes how difficult it is to feed.
Zweigato debuted at the Toronto Worldwide Film Celebration in 2022. It was released on 17 March 2023.
‘Zvigato’, made under the direction of Nandita Das, also got a special place in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Library. The director shared the news on his Instagram handle and wrote a long note thanking the audience for their ‘overwhelming’ response.
He had said, “It is a pleasant feeling that the film is being appreciated and we are happy that we made it.” I believe that when stories are true, people know it.
