According to this, Chief Minister Gehlot has taken an important decision to provide relief from inflation to 1.06 crore families of the state. He has approved the implementation of Chief Minister Free Annapurna Food Packet Scheme.

Under this, packets containing free food items will be distributed to the families covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). According to this, gram dal of one kg, sugar, salt, one liter of edible oil, 100-100 grams of chili powder, coriander powder and 50 grams of turmeric powder will be given in each packet. Each packet will cost Rs 370. There will be a monthly expenditure of about Rs 392 crore on this scheme. Registration of eligible persons under this scheme will be done in the dearness relief camp to be organized from 24th April.

It is worth mentioning that in this scheme, CONFED (Rajasthan State Cooperative Consumer Federation Ltd.), which comes under the Cooperative Department, will purchase the material and prepare the packets and make it available to the Fair Price Shops (FPS). These will be distributed by the FPS shop (Food and Civil Supplies Department). The cooperative department will keep an eye on this. In another decision, Gehlot approved a financial provision of Rs 421 crore for the Rajasthan Institute of Advanced Learning (RIAL) in Jaipur. In this amount, Rs 180 crore will be used for building construction, Rs 145 crore for setting up of various innovation and research centres/schools.
