7th Pay Commission: Central government employee got this good news, know about DA and DR

Central government employees can get good news after Holi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi government may revise the fitment factor in March. It is expected that after the increase in fitment factor, the minimum salary for central government employees will increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000.

The Center is planning to revise the fitment factor and dearness allowance (DA) after Holi. The current common fitment factor is 2.57 per cent. This means if you are getting a basic salary of Rs 15,500 in 4200 grade pay, then your total salary will be Rs 15,500×2.57 or Rs 39,835. The fitment ratio was recommended by the 6th CPC at 1.86.

The Central Government employees are now demanding that the fitment factor be increased to 3.68. If this happens, the minimum salary will increase from the current Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000.

Earlier, it was reported that central government employees will get a hike in their Dearness Allowance (DA) in March 2023 under the 7th Pay Commission, which is effective from January 1, 2023. Central government employees will also get DA arrears of 18 months.

DA and DR are revised twice a year, effective January 1 and July 1. The last hike was announced in September 2022 and raised DA by 4 per cent to 38 per cent.

In January, the House Rent Allowance (HRA) rules were updated by the Finance Ministry and the ministry said that central government employees will not be entitled to HRA in cases where:

(i) he/she shares the Government accommodation allotted to any other Government employee.

(ii) He/she lives in a residence allotted to his/her parent/son/daughter by the Central Government, State Government, an Autonomous Public Sector Undertaking or a Semi-Government Organization such as Municipality, Port Trust, Nationalized Banks, Life Insurance Corporation. of India, etc.

(iii) his/her spouse has been allotted accommodation at the same station by the Central Government/State Government/Autonomous Public Sector Undertaking/Semi-Government organization like Municipality, Port Trust etc., whether he/she resides in that accommodation or Lives separately in rented accommodation.
