The state’s growth rate was 1.1 percent in the year 2019-20, which is expected to increase to 7.8 percent in 2022-23.

The Finance Minister said in the Assembly that the Jharkhand government has been successful in keeping the fiscal deficit below 1 percent. Debt GDP ratio has improved. Revenue income has increased. He informed that the revenue income in the year 2019-20 was Rs 25,521 crore, which is expected to increase to Rs 31,320 crore in the year 2021-22 and Rs 38,612.84 crore in the year 2022-23, an increase of 23.28 percent.

The Finance Minister of Jharkhand said that there has been a steady decrease in the establishment expenditure in the last three years. At the same time, plan expenditure is continuously increasing. He told that the ratio of establishment and planning has now become 43:57, which is planned to be brought up to 39:61 in the year 2023-24. He said that this proves that our government is giving priority to the development works of the state while continuously reducing the establishment expenditure.

Development of infrastructure is our priority

The Finance Minister said that the development of infrastructure in the state is our priority. Our government has laid emphasis on continuous increase in capital expenditure. There was a capital expenditure of Rs 10,789 crore in the year 2021-22, which increased to Rs 18,017 crore in the year 2022-23 and Rs 25,300 crore in the year 2023-24.
