lord shriram When Parvati questions Kripanidhan Shiva about the incarnation of Lord Shiva, then Shiva says that the qualities, name, story and form of Sri Hari are all immense, countless and limitless. Still O Parvati! I say according to my wisdom, you listen respectfully. Hey Parvati! Listen, Vedas-Shastras have sung the beautiful, detailed and pure characters of Sri Hari. The reason for which the incarnation of Hari takes place cannot be said to be ‘just this’ (there can be many reasons and there can be such that no one can know). Hey wise one! Listen, our opinion is that Shri Ram Chandra ji cannot be argued with by intellect, mind and speech. However, whatever the saints, sages, Vedas and Puranas say according to their own intelligence, and whatever I understand, O Sumukhi! I tell you the same reason. Whenever dharma declines and lowly arrogant demons increase and they do such injustice that cannot be described and Brahmins, cows, deities and the earth suffer, then and there they turn to the merciful Lord. Taking divine) body removes the pain of the gentlemen. He kills the demons and establishes the deities, protects the dignity of his (breathing) Vedas and spreads his pure fame in the world. This is the reason for the incarnation of Shriram Chandra ji. By singing the same fame, the devotees cross the ocean. The Lord who is the Ocean of Grace assumes a body for the benefit of the devotees. There are many reasons for the birth of Shriram Chandra ji, each one more strange than the other. Shiva says:
The first reason for the incarnation of Lord Shri Ram was for the welfare of Hiranyaksha and Hiranyakashipu. The second reason was to give relief to the deities who were troubled by the demon king Jalandhar, Ravana went there and got the supreme position by killing him in the war. Once due to the curse of Muni Narad ji, he had to incarnate. The fourth reason is that God assumed a body to give darshan to Manu-Shatarupa. The fifth reason had to assume the body for the salvation of Chakravarti King Bhanupratap, the son of King Satyaketu.

In this way, to fulfill his promise, the Lord incarnated in Ayodhya with his brothers. Tulsidas ji has explained in Ramcharit Manas what was the situation at the time of God’s incarnation in Ayodhya. Yoga, Lagna, Planet, War and Tithi all became favourable. Matter and consciousness were all filled with joy. (Because) the birth of Shriram is the root of happiness. It was the holy month of Chaitra, it was Navami Tithi. Shuklapaksha and God’s beloved Abhijit was auspicious. It was the afternoon time It was neither very cold, nor was it hot. That holy time was supposed to give peace to all people. A cool, slow and fragrant wind was blowing. The deities were overjoyed and the sages had (great) desire. The forests were in bloom, the mountain ranges were shining with jewels and all the rivers were flowing with nectar. When Brahmji knew the occasion (of God’s appearance), then all the deities (including him) went to the plane decorated. The clear sky was filled with groups of gods. The groups of Gandharvas started singing the virtues. And started showering flowers by decorating them in beautiful fingers. Drums started beating in the sky. Snakes, sages and gods started praising and offering their services (gifts) in many ways. Groups of deities reached their respective worlds after requesting. Jagdadhar Prabhu, who gives peace to all people, appeared. The kind Lord who has mercy on the downtrodden, the benefactor of Kaushalya ji appeared. The mother was filled with joy thinking of his wonderful form which defeated the minds of the sages. The body was dark like a cloud, giving pleasure to the eyes; There were (wearing) their (special) weapons in all four arms; wore (divine) ornaments and forest garlands; He had big eyes. In this way, the God who killed the ocean of beauty and the Khar demon appeared. Mother started saying with folded hands – Oh infinite! How can I praise you Vedas and Puranas tell you that you are beyond illusion, qualities and knowledge and without dimension. Lord Lakshmipati, who loves the devotees, who is sung by Shrutis and saints as the ocean of mercy and happiness, the abode of all virtues, has appeared for my welfare. The Vedas say that in each of your hairs there are groups of many universes created by Maya. You remained in my womb-on hearing this laughter, the intellect of even the patient (judicious) men does not remain stable (gets distracted). When mother got knowledge, then God smiled. They want to do a variety of characters. Therefore, he explained to the mother by telling a beautiful story (of his previous birth), so that she would get the son’s (vatsalya) love (a son’s feeling towards God). That intelligence of the mother changed, then she again said – Hey Tat! Leave this form and do the most beloved ball-leela, (for me) this happiness will be very unique. Hearing these words (of the mother), Sujan Bhagwan, the lord of the deities, started crying in the form of a child. (Tulsidas ji says-) Those who sing this character, they get the position of Sri Hari and (again) do not fall into the well of the world. The Lord incarnated as a human being for the sake of Brahmins, cows, gods and sages. They (ignorant, malina) are beyond maya and its qualities (sat, rajas, tamas) and the (outer and inner) senses. His (divine) body is created of His own will (not by means of the triple material objects being bound by any karmic bondage).

Tulsidas writes about the condition of Ayodhya and its residents at the time of Lord Shri Ram’s incarnation, ‘The city was covered with flags, banners and pylons. The way it was decorated cannot be described. Flowers are raining from the sky, everyone is engrossed in the bliss of the universe. The women walked together in herds. She got up and ran after wearing natural makeup. She enters the Rajdwar singing with a golden urn and auspicious liquid in her plate. She performs aarti and falls at the feet of the child again and again. The Magadhas, Sutas, Vandijans and singers sing the holy qualities of the Lord of Raghukul. The king gave a lot of charity to everyone. The one who got it also did not keep it (spoiled it). There was mud of musk, sandalwood and saffron in the middle of all the lanes (of the city). Auspicious congratulations started ringing in every house, because the original God of beauty has appeared. Crowds of men and women of the city are rejoicing everywhere.
Many many congratulations to all of you on this auspicious occasion of Ram Navami and may the blessings of Ram be upon you all.
Jai Shri Ram
