After retiring from the post of SBI chairperson in the year 2017, Bhattacharya took over as the chairperson and chief executive officer (CEO) of cloud-based service provider Salesforce India in the year 2020. She is currently engaged in strengthening Salesforce. He said that only when the number of women in the workplace increases, their representation at the top level will increase. For this, he requested the companies to show flexibility and sympathetic attitude in the matter of calling women back to the office. His statement is important in the sense that after the Kovid-19 epidemic, most of the companies have made it mandatory for their employees to come back to office instead of work from home.
Due to this, the rate of female employees leaving the job has also increased in some areas. The country’s largest information technology company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) recently said that the attrition rate of its female employees has increased in the recent past as compared to male employees. TCS has attributed the role behind this to the closure of the work from home facility. Bhattacharya, however, advised women professionals not to give up even in the face of adversity, saying that in such a situation, giving up is the easiest way. You don’t do that, you need to keep your feet. You have to be patient in adverse situations and you can come out of it.
