New Delhi (Best Hindu News): Instant messaging platform WhatsApp has banned millions of accounts in India in December 2022. The account ban has been informed by the app on Wednesday. WhatsApp bans accounts every month for violation of company policy, user reports and other reasons. The number of banned accounts in the month of December is slightly less than in November.
In the month of November, the app had banned 37.16 lakh accounts, which has come down to 36.77 lakh in the month of December. In this, 13.89 lakh accounts have been actively banned. WhatsApp gives information about banned accounts under IT Rules 2021 every month.
The app told that between 1 December 2022 and 31 December 2022, 36.77 lakh accounts have been banned. In this, 13.89 lakh accounts have been actively banned even before a user reports it.
After the new IT rules come in 2021, big digital platforms have to issue compliance reports every month. In this report, social media platforms give information about all the actions that they have taken to make the platform safe.
