New Delhi. Adani Green Energy on Wednesday informed about starting a 180 MW solar power plant in Devikot, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. According to the statement, the plant has a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), India’s largest renewable energy company, Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL). With the successful commissioning of this plant, AGEL’s operational solar volume has increased to 6,243 MW.
The total operational renewable generation capacity has reached 9,784 MW, the highest in India. The 180 MW solar plant in Rajasthan will generate about 54 crore electricity units annually, power more than 1.1 lakh houses and reduce about 3.9 lakh tonnes of CO2 emissions. The plant is equipped with waterless ‘robotic module’ cleaning systems, enabling water conservation in the barren region of Jaisalmer.
