Hindenburg made his report public on January 24, 2023. After seeing this report, US regulators and authorities have started questioning the major shareholders of Adani Group. It has been said in the report that the US Attorney’s Office of New York Brooklyn has been investigating the Adani Group for the last few months. Along with this, the US market regulator Securities and Exchange Commission is also investigating on the basis of Hindenburg report.
SEBI is also investigating in India
Not only this, the report of Hindenburg Research is also being investigated in India. The Securities and Regulatory Board of India (SEBI) is also probing the companies of the Adani Group. SEBI is trying to find out whether the company has violated any rules related to the market. This investigation has been started by SEBI after the order of the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court has given time till August 17 to SEBI
The court had given two months time to SEBI regarding this investigation, but SEBI urged the court to give additional time. After this, on May 17, on the petition of SEBI, the Supreme Court has given time till August 14. Along with this, the Supreme Court also said that if SEBI needs time even after this, then more time can be given till 30 September.
