Adani-Hindenburg case: Supreme Court to consider SEBI’s latest status report on 15th

New Delhi (Best Hindu News): The Supreme Court will consider on September 15 the latest status report filed by the Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in the Adani-Hindenburg case. The hearing is likely to take place on September 15 before a bench headed by CJI DY Chandrachud, according to details available on the official website of the apex court. On August 25, the markets regulator said in a fresh status report that it has investigated 24 cases in compliance with the apex court’s orders, and added that Sebi will take appropriate action based on the outcome of the probe in the Adani-Hindenburg case.
SEBI Executive Director V.S. The status report filed by Sundaresan stated, “Out of the said 24 enquiries, 22 are of final nature and 2 are of interim nature. As on date, the said 22 Final Investigation Reports and 1 Interim Investigation Report have been approved by the Competent Authority as per extant practice and procedures of SEBI. ,
It added that in respect of one remaining case, the interim findings are approved by the competent authority and SEBI has sought information from external agencies or entities.
It added, “On receipt of such information, the same will be evaluated along with the interim investigation report to determine the further course of action, if any, in the said cases.” On August 14, SEBI had sought an extension of 15 days to complete the investigation process and file a status report in the matter.
The markets regulator had then said that “out of the said 24 investigations/examinations, 17 are final and complete and approved by the competent authority as per extant practice and procedures of SEBI”. Earlier, the Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) had expressed its views before the Supreme Court on various recommendations made by the Court-appointed expert committee in connection with the Adani-Hindenburg matter.
